Classic  Black and White

While I began as predominantly a color photographer I soon came to realize the strong emotional effect that can be realized through black and white photography.  To capture some, but not all of these images, I used different types of infra red film and printed the final images on traditional silver based photographic paper.  Final archival toning can add just an appropriate amount of  color.  In recent years it has become possible to print digital files in true black and white that are indistinguishable from darkroom silver prints.  The images range from our western landscapes to remnants of ghost towns.
